With the start of a new decade just under one month away, experts in the property market are already seeing a major change in where people in the United States want to live. Specifically, they are searching for residential real estate in places that are not too hard on the wallet. For this reason, it may not come as a surprise that several cities in Florida are among the top 25 metropolitan areas for Americans in 2020.

Based on a new forecast of the most popular residential real estate markets, Americans are losing interest in living in the biggest cities. Instead, they are looking for residential real estate in places where their dollars will go farther. They are also looking for homes in cities where life will be less hectic.

As a general rule of thumb, for 2020, home buyers are more interested in metros that are medium sized than they are in larger ones. In addition, they are searching for homes in the southern part of the United States or out West. On top of this, the cities they are eyeing are not necessarily large coastal cities but instead secondary markets with affordable housing. In Florida, the cities that are expected to draw many buyers include the Tampa and Clearwater area, the Fort Meyers area and the Orlando area.

Of course, purchasing residential real estate can be daunting, especially in competitive markets, and especially for those who are buying houses for the first time. Fortunately, an attorney can guide buyers through the legal aspects of their deals with the goal of protecting their rights and best interests. With an attorney’s help, buyers in Florida can feel more confident about their residential real estate transactions before they sign on the dotted line.
